VN-Ring EC axial ring fan

The VN-Ring EC is an axial ring fan equipped with an energy-efficient EC-IE5 motor. It is designed to move large volumes of air in a relatively compact installation. Depending on the version, the VN-Ring EC can deliver airflow rates of up to 35,000 m³/h and pressure increases of up to 550 Pa.

Standard sizes range from 310 to 900 mm in diameter, with steel or stainless steel casing options. A range of control options allows the airflow to be adjusted to suit the application.

When should you choose an axial ring fan?

An axial ring fan is a good choice when large volumes of air need to be moved and the fan must be integrated directly into equipment, an opening or an airflow path. The ring surrounding the impeller provides a compact design suitable for a wide range of industrial and technical installations.

The VN-Ring EC is suitable for applications such as:

EC motor with multiple control options

The VN-Ring EC is equipped with an EC-IE5 motor. Its speed can be adjusted to match the required airflow, helping to support efficient fan operation.

Depending on the version, the fan can be controlled via:

4–20 mA
PWM
RS485 / Modbus

This makes the VN-Ring EC suitable for both relatively simple control arrangements and integration into technical installations or control systems.

Diameters from 310 to 900 mm

The VN-Ring EC is available in a range of diameters from 310 to 900 mm. Depending on the version, maximum airflow reaches 35,000 m³/h.

The right version is determined by more than the fan diameter. The fan’s duty point, defined by the required airflow and pressure, determines which version best suits the application.

Please note: maximum airflow and maximum pressure do not occur at the same operating point. The actual airflow available depends on the system resistance. The fan performance curves and required duty point should therefore be used for technical selection.

Steel or stainless steel casing, plastic or aluminium impeller

Depending on the application, the VN-Ring EC is available with a steel or stainless steel casing. Impeller options include plastic and aluminium.

This allows the fan to be configured to suit the operating environment and the air being handled.

The airflow direction can also vary. The VN-Ring EC is available in the following configurations:

Motor → impeller
Impeller → motor

A reversible version is also available. This can be useful when the same fan needs to supply and extract air, or when the airflow direction must be changed within an installation.

Compact axial fan for integration into equipment

The ring design makes the VN-Ring EC suitable for integration into a wide range of technical applications, including machinery, air handling equipment, cooling assemblies and industrial enclosures.

Selection involves more than airflow capacity. Available space, connection requirements, airflow direction, control options and material choice also need to be considered.

VN-Ring EC or another type of axial fan?

The VN-Ring EC is a specific option within our range of axial fans. A ring fan is worth considering when a compact fan needs to be integrated into equipment or an airflow path.

Depending on the application, another type of axial fan may be more suitable. A wall fan, for example, may be the right choice when the fan is installed directly in a wall, while a duct fan is designed for use in a duct system.

The selection process should therefore start with the application and required duty point, rather than the fan diameter alone.
